To which airport do I have to fly to?

We recommend flying into Rio de Janeiro – Galeão International Airport (GIG). There are regularly direct flights from Rio to Manaus. The Manaus Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO) is located 15 km from the city center.

Vegan Travel will offer a pre-cruise extension in Rio!

Do you offer a pre-cruise extension?

Yes! We will offer a pre-cruise extension in Rio de Janeiro which would extend your trip with Vegan Travel for three days/ two nights.

Rio de Janeiro is one of those cities that should be on everyone’s bucket list. Golden beaches and lush mountains, samba-fueled nightlife and spectacular football matches: welcome to the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City)!

Details will be announced once we finalized the planning. All booked guests will receive an email with a link to our separate website for pre-cruise packages. You will also be able to find all details here.

Do you offer a post-cruise package?

For this cruise we do not offer a post-cruise extension. However, we do have partner hotels in Manaus. If needed, we can arrange something for you.

How do I book the pre-cruise package?

Once we finalized all details all booked guests will receive an email with a link for a separate Vegan Travel website where you can book the pre-cruise extension. You will also be able to find the link here at the FAQs.

What are the typical demographics of other passengers onboard?

Travelers come from around the world, though all speak English fluently. They range in age from millenials to seniors. Couples, solo travelers, and honeymooners are all common. No one should feel out of place! A vegan journey of discovery not to be missed!

Do cruise rates include international flights?

Cruise rates do not include international flights. We find that it is usually less expensive for travelers to book these separately and this also allows you the flexibility to choose the schedule and routing that is most convenient for you. You can purchase international flights on your own, or we can certainly help you arrange these flights.

Do cruise rates include internal flights and/or hotel before or after the cruise?

The rates online include your all-vegan cruise experience only – all vegan meals while on your cruise, excursions and the accommodations aboard our yacht. Rates do not include flights to and from Manaus or extra hotel nights in Manaus. We normally arrange your flights to and from Manaus as well as any extra hotel nights or airport transfers you may need while on the mainland.

DO I HAVE TO BE VACCINATED (COVID)?

Yes, proof of vaccine is required from the Brazilian Government for most travelers to Brazil. Brazil’s five current exemption categories for unvaccinated travelers include the following:

Brazilian citizens and permanent residents of Brazil;

Those not eligible for vaccination due to age as defined by the Brazilian Ministry of Health;

Those with a health condition contraindicating vaccination;

Those arriving from countries with low vaccination rates as defined by the Brazilian Ministry of Health; and

Those whose entry is approved for humanitarian reasons by the Office of the President of Brazil.
