La Jangada has 10 luxurious and spacious staterooms and 2 Suites on board, each with a private bathroom and large windows that look out onto the water. Here, guests will be able to drift off into a peaceful slumber aboard their vegan floating home. Outside of their cabin, guests will be able to enjoy the rich plant-based delicacies served up in the ship’s restaurant and take advantage of the comfortable lounge and bar areas. On deck, you can gaze out at the world class surroundings that pass by leisurely as you drift along the river. With unparalleled natural beauty just an arm’s length away, you will be able to fully connect with the great outdoors and forget about the outside world.

This riverboat is named La Jangada, as a tribute to the French author Jules Verne and his novel La Jangada, which was published in 1881. The story takes place between Belèm in Brazil and the city of Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon. This part of the world is steeped in mystery and filled with natural wonder. A cruise along the rivers that carve through the jungle is the best way to experience everything the Amazon Rainforest has to offer. La Jangada will be the latest addition to these powerful waterways and aims to create an immersive experience whereby passengers can become one with their natural surroundings.

Which airport do I fly into?

We recommend flying into Rio de Janeiro – Galeão International Airport (GIG). There are regular direct flights from Rio to Manaus.
Planning to join our Amazon II cruise in 2027? You would fly into Bogota - El Dorado International Airport.

Do you offer a pre- or post-cruise extension?

Do fares include international and / or domestic flights?

No, international flights are not included. This allows you to choose the best option for your needs. We recommend SkyScanner and Kayak for booking flights.
Included are the domestic flights between Leticia and Bogota [Amazon I] / Bogota and Leticia [Amazon II] (one way; economy class).

When is the best time to visit the Amazon?

The Amazon is great year-round! Expect heat, humidity, and some rain.
During the rainy season (January - June), the weather is mild, and there is an even better chance of spotting animals.

What's the food on board like?

Excellent, fresh, and vegan! Expect local and international cuisine featuring jungle fruits, vegetables, and juices.

What are the tour leaders like?

Our Amazon guides are exceptional! They're fluent in English (with some tours having additional native guides) and possess expertise in biology/ecology, allowing them to spot amazing wildlife.

Are these trips good for solo travelers?

Absolutely! We cater to solo travelers and offer a friendly, inclusive environment.
We recommend sharing a twin room.

What vaccinations are required?
