We arrive in Vienna while the city still sleeps, slipping silently into the heart of the Austrian capital. After breakfast, step out into a city that does Christmas like nowhere else.

Morning: The Christmas markets! Vienna's Rathausplatz transforms into a winter village of wooden stalls, twinkling lights, and the scent of roasted chestnuts. Sip a warm punch (vegan, naturally!), browse handcrafted ornaments, and let the carousel of sights and sounds carry you away.

Afternoon: Explore the imperial core - the Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the elegant Ringstrasse boulevards. Or join an optional excursion to Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburg summer residence, dressed in its holiday finest.

Evening: We stay late - very late. The markets glow even brighter after dark, and the city takes on a romantic, almost secret quality. Find a quiet café, catch a classical concert, or simply wander. The ship doesn't depart until 23:30, so the night is yours.

We arrive in Regensburg mid-morning - a city that feels frozen in time. The entire old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with over 1,500 listed buildings spanning two millennia.

Step off the ship and walk across the Steinerne Brücke (Stone Bridge), a masterpiece of medieval engineering. On the far side, the historic sausage kitchen has been serving hungry travelers since the 12th century—yes, they have vegan options now! Explore the cathedral, the old town hall, and the narrow lanes where Roman, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture stand side by side.

Yes! Most markets in Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna are in full swing until December 26th. While some markets close or have shorter hours on Christmas Day and the 26th, we have timed our itinerary to ensure you experience the most iconic markets at their peak glow. Even after the 24th, many cities transition into "New Year Markets," keeping the festive spirit alive.

Will Santa make an appearance on Christmas?

Maybe yes, maybe not... but we have it on good authority that Santa knows exactly where the ship is! Not only will he find you to deliver gifts, but there’s a very good chance he’ll make a grand public appearance on Christmas Day. Keep your eyes on the horizon (and the chimney).

Will the ship be decorated for Christmas?

Where do I fly to?

For the Christmas cruise, you would fly into Budapest International Airport (BUD). It’s a short transfer from there to the heart of the city, where The Gentleman will be waiting for you.
The cruise ends in Nuremberg; the international airport code is NUE.

I’m traveling solo. Will I feel out of place?

Never. Vegan Travel is famous for its inclusive, community-driven atmosphere. Between our shared dining tables and group market visits, you’ll find it’s incredibly easy to make new friends. The holidays are a time for connection, and no one spends them alone on our ships.

Can any cabin accommodate a third guest (adult or child)?

To ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers, the cabins aboard The Gentleman are strictly designed for double occupancy (maximum of two guests).

Third Adult: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate a third adult in a single cabin as there are no pull-out sofas or "roll-away" beds available.
Traveling with a Child: If you are traveling with a young child, they may be able to join you in your cabin provided they share the existing bedding with the adults. Please note that no additional beds can be added to the room, so we recommend this only for very young children to ensure everyone gets a restful night's sleep.

Our Recommendation for Families:If you are traveling as a group of three or four, the best way to enjoy the festive season is to take advantage of our "Buy One Cabin, Get One Half Price" promotion for the Christmas cruise!
