Where will the ship be at the stroke of midnight?

We will be sailing the scenic Main River as we transition from 2027 into 2028! Imagine standing on the deck with a glass of vegan bubbly, watching the fireworks from nearby riverside towns reflect off the water while the silhouette of a medieval castle or a frosted vineyard glides past. It is a peaceful, breathtaking, and truly exclusive way to celebrate away from the crowded city squares.

What is the New Year’s Eve Gala like?

The evening begins with a multi-course Gourmet Gala Dinner, meticulously prepared by our chefs to celebrate the best of plant-based fine dining. After dinner, the celebration moves to the lounge for music (live DJ!), dancing, and our official countdown. Since we are sailing, you get the best of both worlds: a high-energy party inside and the serene, ever-changing beauty of the river outside.

Is there a special New Year’s Day Brunch?

Yes! We know that the first morning of the year should be spent at a leisurely pace. We host an extended New Year’s Day Recovery Brunch featuring everything from hearty savory dishes to fresh pastries and "superfood" smoothies to kickstart your 2028 resolutions (even if that resolution is just to enjoy more cruises!).

What exactly is included in the drink package?

We want your first week of 2028 to be completely stress-free. Your fare includes a wide selection of beverages available all day, every day. This covers:

  • Specialty coffees and premium teas.
  • Soft drinks, juices, and mineral water.
  • Local beers and a curated selection of fine wines. Whether you’re having a midnight toast on the deck or a cozy latte during our "Coffee & Cake" hour, the bar tab is the last thing you need to worry about.

an the Christmas and New Year’s cruises be combined?

Absolutely. Combining them into a 14-night Grand Voyage is the ultimate holiday gift to yourself. You’ll sail from the grand spires of Budapest all the way to the canals of Amsterdam, keeping your favorite cabin for the entire journey.

Bonus: Guests who book the Grand Voyage combination will receive an exclusive Christmas gift on board!

Which airport do I fly into for the start of the cruise?

The departure point is Nuremberg Airport (NUE), which is well connected via major European hubs like London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

  • Alternatively, you can fly into Munich Airport (MUC), which offers more international connections. From Munich, it's a comfortable two-hour train ride to Nuremberg.

Where do I fly out of?

The cruise concludes in Amsterdam. You can easily fly home from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), or better yet, stay a few extra days to enjoy the city's winter charm.

When do we disembark on the last day?

Disembarkation takes place after a final breakfast on board, usually between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. This gives you plenty of time to reach the airport for afternoon flights or to start your post-cruise stay in Amsterdam.

Where does the ship dock in Nuremberg and Amsterdam?

The exact docking locations are assigned by the port authorities and have not been confirmed yet. However, you don’t need to worry - your official cruise tickets will be sent to you 6 - 8 weeks before we set sail. These will include the precise address of the pier and all necessary arrival details.

Can any cabin accommodate a third guest (adult or child)?

To ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers, the cabins aboard The Gentleman are strictly designed for double occupancy (maximum of two guests).

  • Third Adult: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate a third adult in a single cabin as there are no pull-out sofas or "roll-away" beds available.
  • Traveling with a Child: If you are traveling with a young child, they may be able to join you in your cabin provided they share the existing bedding with the adults. Please note that no additional beds can be added to the room, so we recommend this only for very young children to ensure everyone gets a restful night's sleep.

Our Recommendation for Families:If you are traveling as a group of three or four, the best way to enjoy the festive season is to take advantage of our "Buy One Cabin, Get One Half Price" promotion for the Christmas cruise! This allows your family to have the luxury of two separate cabins (and two bathrooms!) while keeping everyone close by.
